Stephen Murphy, 52, of Hopkinton, hit two homes with his van at 75 and 77 Grove St. before driving away from the area shortly before 3 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 4.

Officers stopped the car driven by Murphy and arrested him shortly after, police said.

First responders arrived at the two homes to find one of them with significant damage to a load-bearing wall.

Firefighters were also at the scene to stabilize the home as snowfall is expected this weekend, authorities said.

There were no injuries, but a family who lives in one of the homes was displaced and will be staying with relatives following the crash.

Murphy will arraigned Friday, Jan. 5, in Framingham District Court on charges of:

  • Operating under the influence of liquor (second offense)
  • Driving to endanger
  • Leaving the scene of a property damage crash (two counts)
